Set of Four French Régence Style Armchairs, 19th Century

This set of four walnut arm chairs is an impressive example of French Régence style. Hand carved in the 19th Century, shell and foliate motifs typical of the period adorn the arched seat back crown and shoulders and extend down through the armrests, lower frame, and cabriole legs. The elegantly curved armrests and generous seat are upholstered with silk of a motif contemporary to the period. Condition is commensurate with age and use.
