Pair of Marble Urns with Ormolu Bronze Mounts, French Early 19th Century

A pair of incredibly rare marble urns with ormolu bronze mounts that would be a striking addition to any interior setting. Crafted from unique multi-colored marble, these urns are carved in a classic amphora shape that tapers to a narrow neck and slightly flared rim. Incredibly intricate ormolu bronze snakes intertwine and attach at either side to create dramatic handles. Each urn is supported on a square marble base decorated by a laurel wreath surrounding a marble pedestal that is topped with a ormolu bronze cradle featuring a repeating foliate and floral motif.
