This impressive pair of gilt and patinated bronze candelabra is a quintessential example of the French empire period. Drawing from Greco-Roman influence, each candelabra features a central female figure in patinated bronze draped in intricately detailed robes and triumphantly holding up gilt bronze scrolled branches featuring delicate foliate motifs as they extend out into candlestick holders. Each figure is raised on gilt bronze fluted columns encircled with a laurel branch and supported by a porphyry veneer base with decorative bronze accents at the corners.
