Set of Four Doré Bronze and Crystal Louis XV Style Girandoles, 19th Century

A stunning set of four French 19th Century Louis XVI style crystal and gilt bronze Girandoles from the estate of Phyllis McGuire. Elaborate and highly detailed gilt bronze work is featured throughout. Circular bases display classic motifs including rosettes, scrollwork and bellflower detailing. Acanthus leaves rise up the central stalk to three female busts flanked by elegant scrolls. An elaborate plinthe and floral baluster with gadrooning add support between two levels of scrolled foliate arms. Each gently rises up to produce candle cups adorned with acanthus leaves and cradled by scalloped rock crystal drip trays. Elegant crystal pendants and garlands are draped throughout and lead up to a prominent and crowning crystal finial.
