This extremely unique Spanish wrought iron hall stand features a robust and decorative frame with elaborate detailing. The upper part of the stand features hand painted inset porcelain tiles each depicting a unique scene of daily life in the 19th Century. These tiles are inset within an intricate iron framework wrought with ornate motifs including twisted and hammered rods, scrollwork, foliate patterns. The corners are embellished with winged dragons adding a mythical element to this already striking piece. The lower portion is similarly composed of twisted and hammered rods with the legs flanked on either side with elegant scrolls that provide a sense of movement and fluidity. The feet scroll upwards and display delicate foliate motifs. A truly unique combination of form and functionality.
